Close current account
Log in to the online bank using the link below.
Select the current account you want to close.
If you have agreements linked to the account, these must be closed first. Wait two working days before closing the account itself.

Select the savings account you want to close.

The deposit will be returned to the tenant
If the tenant is going to get their full deposit back, only the landlord needs to close the deposit account.
The money will be paid to the tenant as soon as the landlord has requested release.
The exception is if the tenant has a security deposit account as their only account at DNB. Then the account will only be released, and the tenant will need to fill in a separate form that shows which account the deposit should be transferred to. To get access to this form, the tenant must contact us by chat or by phone on +47 915 04800.
The landlord can close the security deposit account when logged in to the online bank by using the link below.
Select “Complete account” and then “Complete security deposit account”.

Landlord has a claim against the deposit
If the landlord has a claim against the deposit and the tenant agrees with the claim, both must submit the final form for the deposit.
I’m a tenant
Log in to the online bank.
Go to “Everyday banking and loans” and select “Close account”.
Select “Close security deposit account”.
Fill in the form.
It is important that the following information is filled in:
- Security deposit account number
- Date tenancy ended
- Distribution of the deposit amount
- Account number for any disbursement of the deposit amount to the tenant
The bank will send written notice to the other party with a deadline.
I’m a landlord
Log in to the online bank.
Go to “Everyday banking and loans” and select “Close account”.
Select “Close security deposit account”.
Fill in the form.
It is important that the following information is filled in:
- Security deposit account number
- Date tenancy ended
- Outstanding amount, outstanding overdue rent and periods it applies to
- Landlord’s account number to receive payment of rent
- Account number for disbursement of claims to landlord
The bank will send written notice to the other party with a deadline.
The tenant and the landlord disagree
If you disagree with the allocation of the deposit, both must submit the deposit closure form.
Close a security deposit account
How will the deposit be distributed:

Log in to the online bank using the link below.
From the list, select the account you want to close.

Select Savings account from the list and click Open a Savings account.

Open a security deposit account
To open a security deposit account, the tenant and landlord must be a customer of DNB.
It costs NOK 500 to open the account in the online bank and NOK 1 250 in a bank branch. The set-up costs shall be paid by the landlord unless otherwise agreed.
The landlord orders the security deposit account in their online bank by going to Everyday banking and loans and selecting Open an account.
Then selecting Open a security deposit account.
Fill in the form and upload the tenancy agreement.
The account agreement will be sent to both the landlord and tenant for electronic signing in the online bank.
0 to 18 years > Barnas Sparekonto (Children’s Savings Account)
If we do not already have the correct Norwegian birth certificate for the child, you will be asked to upload this (image file or pdf). It is therefore important that you have this saved and easily accessible on your computer before you start the order.
Log in to the online bank.
Go to “Everyday banking and loans” and select “Open new account”.
Select “Barnas Sparekonto (Children’s Savings Account)” from the list.
Read the information and click on "Open Barnas Sparekonto (Children’s Savings Account)”
Fill in the form.
6 to 12 years > My First card
If the child is not already a DNB customer, you must either have a Norwegian birth certificate, confirmation of parental responsibility or guardian confirmation/foster home agreement saved and easily accessible on your computer before you start the order.
Log in to the online bank.
Go to “Everyday banking and loans” and select “Order card”.
Select “My First Card” from the list.
Read the information and click on “Order My First Card”
Fill in the form.
13 to 18 years > Young person’s card
If the child is not already a DNB customer, you must either have a Norwegian birth certificate, confirmation of parental responsibility or guardian confirmation/foster home agreement saved and easily accessible on your computer before you start the order.
Log in to the online bank.
Go to “Everyday banking and loans” and select “Order card”.
Select “Young person’s card” from the list.
Read the information and click on “Order Young Person’s Card”.

Become a customer without a BankID
If the guardians/parents are unable to sign with BankID, set-up must be completed by filling out the following form:
Accounts for children and young people
Parents can quickly and easily set up a customer account for children and young people by using BankID, here and now.
If there are two parents, both must be a DNB customer in order to set up a customer account for the child.
Open a joint account
One of you can open a new account in the online bank and then make the other an account signatory on the account. This assumes that both of you are DNB customers.
Go to “Everyday banking and loans” and select “Open new account”.
When the account is set up, the account owner can set up the other person as an account signatory of the account.
Go to “Everyday banking and loans” and select “account signatorys”.
Find the account you created and select “New account signatory”.

Log in to the online bank.
Go to “Everyday banking and loans” and select “Open new account”.
Select the account you want to open from the list.

Online bank transfer
Log in using the link below.
Select the savings account in the drop-down menu.
Select a To account and enter the amount.
Select another date if required. You can also add a comment if you wish.
Confirm the transfer.
Transfer in the mobile banking app
Go to “Payments” and press “Transfer”.
Enter amount.
Select the savings account as a From account.
Select the desired To account.
If required, select a different date for the transfer. You can also add a comment if you wish.
Confirm the transfer.
Tip! In the account summary, you can drag the Savings account and drop it over the account you want to transfer to.
From savings account to another account
You can transfer from the savings account to one of your other accounts, both in the online bank and the mobile banking app.
There are no withdrawal limits in a normal savings account.
Online bank transfer
Go to “Everyday banking and loans” and select “Transfer your own accounts”.
Select the current account as a From account.
Select the savings account as a To account and enter the amount.
Select another date if required. You can also add a comment if you wish.
Confirm the transfer.
Transfer in the mobile banking app
Go to “Payments” and press “Transfer”.
Enter amount.
Select the current account as a From account.
Select the savings account as a To account.
If required, select a different date for the transfer. You can also add a comment if you wish.
Confirm the transfer.
Tip! In the account summary, you can drag the current account and drop it over the account you want to transfer to.
From current account to savings account
You can transfer from a current account to a savings account in the online bank and the mobile banking app.
You can transfer between your own accounts in both the online bank and the mobile banking app.

Add a new account signatory
Log in to the online bank using the link below.
Select “New account signatory” next to the relevant account.

Delete an account signatory
Log in to the online bank
Go to “Everyday banking and loans” and select “account signatorys”.
Select “New account signatory” next to the relevant account.
Non-digital customer
If you don’t use online banking, you can fill out the form and send it to us by regular post. The form must be signed by the account holder and witnessed by two people of legal age. The witnesses cannot be a spouse/cohabitant, parent or child/grandchild of the manager.
You can add or remove an account signatory of an account in the online bank, as long as you are over 18 years of age.
There are a maximum of 5 account signatorys per account when registering in the online bank.
This is how you do it
You’ll find the inbox in the desktop version of the online bank.
Log in and click on the green information icon at the top right.
- Bank confirmation/bank reference can only be ordered in the Norwegian version of the online bank.
You will receive a bank statement every month via your online bank mailbox or by post.
Copy of older account statements:
- Log in to the online bank using the link below.
- Go to Everyday banking and loans and select Archive.
- Select statement as the message type.
- Select the desired account and month/year.
Receipt for payments
- Go to Everyday banking and loans and select Completed payments.
- You can also find the individual payment under Everyday banking and loans and My finances.
If you want a receipt for payments made by card, you must use the bank statement.
If you have an account that you do not want to be shown in the online bank, you can choose to hide it.
Log in to the online bank using the link below.
Tick “Hide” for the account you want to hide.
Confirm the change.
As an account holder, you must first register the account signatory on the account.
- Log in using the link below.
- Select the account the account signatory will have access to and click New account signatoryFollow the steps.
When the account signatory is registered, you can order cards for the account signatory.
The account signatory can also order the card themselves by logging in to their own online bank.
- Go to “Everyday banking and loans”.
- Select “Order card”
- Click on “Order new/extra debit card”.
The card agreement is then sent to both parties for electronic signing in the online bank.
If both have BankID, the agreement is sent by regular post.
You can easily switch from your private online bank to the corporate online bank.
Click “Corporate online bank” in the top right-hand corner of the page.
Select online bank user and click “OK”.

Yes, the prerequisite for opening a security deposit account is that both parties are or must become customers of DNB, and that they are over 18 years of age.
If the tenant is not an existing customer, they can become a customer with BankID from their main bank.
The account signatory will have access to pay from the account, and see transactions (account statements, etc.), including for the time before he became an account signatory.
To register as a guardian, you must have a guardianship declaration from the County Governor. The guardian declaration must be uploaded via the electronic order form.
At various phases of life, the need for help may arise. By being an account signatory of an account, you can log in to your own online bank with your own BankID and pay bills from accounts you have available.

Cards for children are ordered from the guardian’s online bank.

Select which card to order, read the information and fill out the form.
When the order is completed by one of the guardians, the other guardian will find the agreement to sign in their online bank under “My details”.
The child’s parents/guardians can order BankID for young people between the ages of 13 and 17 in the online bank. This assumes that the child is certified by a passport.

Questions and answers
With us, children who have turned 6 years old can get a debit card.
The child’s guardians must be registered with a passport at the bank. In addition, a picture of the child’s birth certificate (Norwegian) or a confirmation of parental responsibility must be uploaded when ordering.
Yes, the child and both parents must be a customer of DNB in order to set up a child’s customer account.
